This recipe for Classic Mojitos will make you feel like you’re on vacation! Made with fresh mint leaves and a homemade lime simple syrup, this sweet rum cocktail will perk you up on warm summer days!
Combine the water and sugar in a small saucepan. Bring to a low simmer over medium heat. Stir until all the sugar is dissolved, then stir in lime juice.
Remove it from the heat and set it aside to cool completely. This can be done in advance and stored in the refrigerator.
To Make the Mojito
Add 3-5 mint leaves to the bottom of a tall glass. Muddle them to release the mint oil.
Add ice to the glass.
Add lime juice, lime simple syrup, and rum to the glass.
Top with sparkling water and stir to combine.
Garnish with a sprig of mint and lime slices. Enjoy!
