I am a little late to post about my great foodie pen pal this week because I went to GA for the SEC Championship game, good thing Alabama came out with a win! But John and I have been traveling every weekend for the past 5 weekends so I am glad to finally stay in one place. But since we went home for a little over a week during Thanksgiving the one thing I knew would be happening was my November Foodie Pen Pal package would be awaiting me on my door step when I got home. And it was such a treat! Melissa over at Dancing for Food sent me some great goodies!
The first thing I thought of when I saw the Jalapeno Pepper Sauce was our friend William will be excited to use this for when we do our fish fry for our Wednesday night Supper Club.
The Pumpkin Spice bars were such a treat to enjoy, especially right around Thanksgiving. I think this is the first year I did not even have a slice of pumpkin pie for my dessert, I ate my mini cherry pies with whipped cream instead. Thank you Melissa you must have known I would have had a slight void in my meal.
I also got two Rise Energy Bars. Since I get to work at 6 am and generally eat a banana while drinking my chai tea these kept me quite full. As for energy I think the only thing that will help in this department is getting back into a normal workout routine and a few more hours of sleep.
Lastly were two treats I have never seen or heard of before: Firecrack Chuao ChocoPods. She knew I liked Mexican food and these mini chocolate bars have so many layers of flavor. You take a bite into the bitter dark chocolate and can taste sea salt, and then the smoky chipotle hits you and lingers with a hint of spice. They were my favorite thing in the package!
Thank you for putting those together for me Melissa!
If you don’t recall how Foodie Pen Pals work the basic breakdown is:
On the last day of the month you post a blog post about your box of treats
Dinner Party: Kale Pesto Pizza, Winter Squash & Ricotta Pizza, and Brussels Sprouts, Bacon and Goat Cheese Pizza
