Foodie Pen Pal Program

This month, I decided to participate in the ! You get paired up with another foodie who becomes your pen pal that you send a food package to, as well as a different pen pal who sends you a fun food package from. You contact the person you are sending things to and ask about what types of foods they enjoy or dislike to get an idea of what to send. Then comes the fun part! Select your goodies, and mail them. And then wait for your package to arrive.

I found out about this through one of my foodie friends, and realized it had two things in common that I love, food and getting things in the mail so I decided to give it a try.

Remember that feeling you got when you were little and away at camp when a letter or package came in the mail? That’s how I felt when I got mine. I was paired up Cara Ridlehuber. Check at her blog here What’s next girls?! After exchanging some emails back and forth, we discovered that we loved Mexican food, are both originally from the South and have the love language of cooking for others. I anxiously awaited my package.

When I got home from work this is what was waiting at my doorstep from

My package included Roasted Raspberry Chipotle Sauce which you pour over cream cheese and top with jalapenos (which she also included- and I plan to use in my queso dip which she wanted to send but knew that would be a little hard). I’m excited to try out this sweet and spicy appetizer for our next Supper Club. I also got a Chipotle salsa mix & Chipotle Ranch Dip mix with Tortilla Chips, and  lemon cheesecake dessert mix and honey. My favorite item was Chipotle Peppers in Adobo Sauce for the recipe she included of Spicy Dr. Pepper Shredded Pork. The Hall house will definitely be having a Mexican Fiesta soon.

This was my first time to participate in the Foodie Pen Pal Program. If this sounds like something you would be interested in, hop on over to Lindsey’s blog at The Lean Green Bean sign up, you’ll be glad you did!
