Like most of you know my week is not complete without going to the Farmers Market Saturday morning – whether I am in Alabama or Indy. Nothing beats talking with local farmers about their crops, or meeting artisans who have made homemade jelly or bread. But then after I get my produce/goods for my week of cooking I have to stop for my crepe and juice. I am a creature of habit! But recently I got the pleasure of having Sonja and Ben from A Couple Cooks make me my morning crepe. Sonja and Ben have a great site focusing on local and seasonal foods. Their recipes are amazing, please check them out if you haven’t before. But not only did I get to watch them work (which was quite a neat experience) I got to taste their creation. Their crepe was filled with artichoke hearts , grilled spinach and garlic, mozzarella & parmesan cheese, and topped with a creamy dijon sauce, a perfect spring crepe. It was so good that the following week I went back to order another one. Too bad they weren’t there to chat with and make it again. But I thought all of it was a pretty cool experience being a food blogger and finally getting to meet others face to face and not just talk through social media.
And while I still have not attempted crepes they made it look easy! My sweet friend Rebekah brought me back a ton of recipe cards for crepes when she went to Italy a while back. The language barrier might be a little difficult because they are all in Italian (hopefully John can translate some since he’s been learning Italian through Rosetta Stone) but until then I can drool over their mouthwatering pictures. So crepes are yet another thing I think I should add to my food bucket list
