Napolese

I will say this, John is great 93% of the time to let me indulge when I have a huge craving for something.  Last weekend I wanted to have a date night out to Napolese. And no one or thing was getting in my way of having pizza that night. I hadn’t been there except for once with Mama but their pizza was fantastic and the toppings were so unique.

John came home somewhat early so we enjoyed a nice glass of wine on the back porch. The weather was in the 50s which was a great break from the snowy 18 degree weather right now. Sadly he wasn’t craving pizza but was craving steak, surprise surprise. When I let him know that was not going to cut it he proceeded to list quail, pork, seafood and even chicken to try to deter me (basically everything but pizza). Needless to say it didn’t work. We went to Napolese. Hey, I may not give in on food but next time you see him ask him how many times he won’t give in for the 20 million gladiator/Greek mythology/sci-fi kind of movies I have had to see this year.

The great thing about this wine is we still have the bottle of Pinot Grigio that we brought back from Italy from the same vineyard. I definitely preferred this over the Pinot Grigio.
Bruschetta with Fresh Capriole Goat Cheese covered in a Rosemary Pesto and slices of Smoking Goose Jowl Bacon Pepperoni
Smoked Salmon Pizza with Dilled Creme Fraiche, Capers, and Roasted Leeks- This was John’s pizza and I was actually surprised with how much he loved it. This reminded me of the flatbread I had for breakfast in Chicago.
Where’s The Beef Pizza- Shortribs, Romesco Sauce, Winter Greens, Oyster Mushrooms, and Provolone. Sadly it sounds a lot better than it was. I was hoping the short ribs would be a little more tender. If they were this pizza would have hit the spot.
