Time is Precious

I think back to his newborn photo shoot and it makes me want to laugh and cry at the same time. Our wonderful photographer Kristeen Marie  told me to keep John Grayson awake for 2 hours before we came and to feed him right when we got there to get those cute milk drunk pictures like these.

Isn’t he adorable? Sadly take one of the photo shoot did not produce this. JG started the first photo shoot out by pooping on the photographer’s nice shirt. I mean I did warn her he was like clockwork at that point using the bathroom within 5 minutes of feeding.

Again I know he’s precious but this is another shot from day 2. So back to day 1 after Kristeen changed her shirt I tried to feed again and then we luckily got in a few shots.

Then the fussiness kicked in, more feedings happened, he pooped on her props (remember the warning I gave), proceeded by pooping in her hand next. John had to walk out of the room because he could not stop laughing. I mean at that juncture after 3 hours of it I threw in the towel. Luckily, she was gracious enough and said we could come back the following day.

And you want to know what happened? He was a total different baby. Literally even Kristeen thought so.

Here he is at 1 month – this photo shoot just consisted of me, him, Granddaddy and Grandmama and only last 5 minutes. That is key!

It seems like yesterday he came into this world and now he is already 5 1/2 weeks old.

So even though my days are spent a little differently now – not working full time or coming home to clean or cook while cooking shows are on in the background. They are now filled with changing diapers  (lots of them), working on the blog (or trying to) or working for my job back in AL while he’s asleep (if I am lucky). Luckily he’s not feeding every 2 hours at night anymore so I dont have to “sleep when the baby sleeps.”And housework well let’s not even discuss that.

But then there are these moments like right now that I won’t get back if I focus on too many other things – he’s asleep in my arms and I’m finishing a post. So until later this week I’m gonna go stare at this beautiful baby boy God has blessed me with because time is precious!
