Remember back in June when I participated in a thing called Bakin’ Friends? I first made Chocolate Crunch Bars with a Bourbon Caramel Sauce (caramel being the secret ingredient). Then the next month and their 1 year anniversary of the program, the secret ingredient was champagne so I made Champagne and Sprinkles Cupcakes. Sadly though in August we traveled so much that I couldn’t participate. The secret ingredient was pretzels and I would have loved to make my Salted Butterscotch Pretzel Chocolate Chip Cookies for someone.
But this month I opened up my email and the secret ingredient was zucchini. I had no clue what to do with it and couldn’t wait to see what someone sent me. This time I was paired up with Christine. And we got the pleasure of sending goodies to each other. She sent me 2 loaves of Zucchini Jalapeno Cornbread. The sad part is there aren’t any better pictures because I kind of devoured these. They were a combination of sweet, savory, and spicy. I couldn’t have asked for anything better!
So thank you Christine for the wonderful cornbread! I will definitely be making these when I make my first batch of Fiesta Chili this fall! As for what I made, I sent Christine this lip smacking Zucchini Apple Bread. If you are interested in learning more about Bakin’ Friends or want to sign up to participate go to Steph’s Bite by Bite.
