Now some of you are all Pumpkin Spice Lattes right now but it doesn’t feel like it in Alabama, so I’m all about a Mixed Berry Smoothie!
I think our family has finally gotten back into the school groove and no one has gotten sick yet. Notice I say yet. But I have become more regular with their morning routine of probiotics, elderberry syrup, and essential oil blend. What do you use to combat all those school germs?
It’s still been a little quiet over here as you can tell. I mentioned that last month and how I am just slowing down and soaking up some time with the family and it has been good for the mind, body, and soul. I have listened to so many podcasts, read quite a few books, and consumed multiple smoothies to help with this also.
This Mixed Berry Smoothie has almost been on a daily rotation in our family. My wildman fortunately will eat almost anything so getting him to consume vegetables is not hard. My wildflower on the other hand could just be on a fruit and cheese diet. Luckily the kids think it’s so much fun to help make them.
So anytime I can make smoothies I am going to add as much nutrients as I can. ie some leafy greens, bee pollen, hemp and/or chia seeds. And then pour it up for the little ones and toss in a little protein for me in mine. These are perfect for breakfast or afternoon snack.
Mixed Berry Smoothie
- 1 date
- 1 1/2 cup frozen berries*
- 1 cup kale
- 1 banana
- 1 /12 cups almond milk
- 1 tablespoon bee pollen
- 1 tablespoon hep seeds
- 1/2 cup vanilla Greek yogurt
- Place all ingredients in a blender and puree until smooth.
- Pour into a glass and serve
